The Indian Film Festival 2025, co-organized by the Indian High Commission and the Singapore Film Society, showcases the richness of Indian cinema.

The Festival is held in commemoration of the 60th year of diplomatic relationship between India and Singapore. Featuring the timeless masterpieces of legendary Bengali filmmaker Satyajit Ray to acclaimed contemporary works, IFF 2025 invites audiences to explore India’s cultural diversity and cinematic brilliance across languages and regions.

Don’t miss this vibrant celebration of one of the world’s most remarkable film traditions!

Dear friends,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Indian Film Festival in Singapore, a celebration of India's vibrant and diverse cinematic heritage spanning over decades. It is being organised at an opportune moment this year, as we celebrate 60 years of our diplomatic ties.

For India, cinema is not only a means of entertainment but also an important medium for expressing our values, traditions, customs and history. This festival provides a unique opportunity for the people of Singapore to experience the richness of Indian cinema, spanning multiple languages and style. We are bringing 18 movies from 7 different languages across genres.

Our two countries share long friendship, and it is through such initiatives that we continue to enhance mutual understanding. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the Singaporean Government, Singapore Film Society, Golden Village Cinema, and all those involved in making this festival possible.

I encourage you all to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Indian cinema and enjoy the films that are being presented during this festival. I wish you all a very memorable experience.

H.E. DR. SHILPAK AMBULE

High Commissioner of India

High Commission of India in Singapore

It is my pleasure and honour to welcome one and all to this immensely meaningful and significant Indian Film Festival 2025 here in Singapore.

India has long enjoyed a well-deserved global reputation for having the most prolific annual output of movies from any part of the world. Critical as well as commercial acclaim is part and parcel of the respected heritage of multiple genres of cinema from India. Family, community, history, culture; grand epics, personal stories; megastar celebrities, niche artistes – all of these, and more, are to be savoured and loved, amidst the amazing kaleidoscope of Indian films.

2025 is not only the 60th anniversary of Singapore’s independence. It is also the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore. The ‘hand-in-glove’ friendship and partnership between our two countries goes all the way back to the very birth of our nation itself. There can be no better milestone than this auspicious year in which to begin this beautiful new collaboration between the High Commission of India in Singapore, and Singapore’s longest-established national cultural cinema organisation.

I am confident that film-buffs in Singapore will immerse themselves with relish, in the repertoire of movies that we have programmed for your enjoyment and enrichment.

Any film festival is a celebration of movies. This film festival is not just that. This film festival is an expression of the joy and love that bonds two countries and unites us in our joint socio-cultural journey together.
