In celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Singapore, we invite short film submissions that share your personal story, memory, or experience related to Korea. What does Korea mean to you? Show us through your unique lens.

Korea Through Your Lens
Show Us Your Korea
We welcome all stories, experiences, or even small glimpses related to Korea or Korea-Singapore connections.
Your film can directly explore Korean culture, or simply include subtle Korean elements—like a scene of someone enjoying kimchi, watching a Korean drama, or even a line spoken in Korean.
(Examples: Personal or family stories, Korean culture in Singapore, Korean props or dialogue, Everyday moments with a Korean touch etc.)
WHO CAN ENTER
The short film competition is open to all Singapore citizens.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE
All films must be submitted by July 31, 2025 (Thursday) to be considered for the competition.

Grand Prize (1 winner)
Round-trip to the 2026 Busan International Film Festival
(includes airfare* and festival pass for winner and one accompanying person)
Excellence Award (1 winner)
Round-trip to the 2026 Busan International Film Festival
(includes airfare* and festival pass for winner only)
Special Jury Award (1 winner)
Galaxy Watch7 (Bluetooth, 40mm)
*Prize Details*
- Airfare will be provided in economy class, capped at SGD $1,000 per person
- Travel schedule and duration of the visit can be determined by the winner in consultation with the organisers
- Accommodation costs are the responsibility of the winner
- Prizes may be substituted with items of equivalent value if the original items are unavailable at the time of award distribution
- Further details regarding prize collection and travel arrangements will be provided to the winner after selection
SUBMISSION CRITERIA
Requirements
- Short film of 2 to 30 minutes (including credits)
- No restriction on genre, as long as the film speaks to the theme of 'Korea Through Your Lens'
- English subtitles must be included
Assets Required
- Screener (film file) (*must be identical to the final copy*); This can be through a Google Drive file, or password-protected YouTube or Vimeo link
- English Synopsis (max 50 words)
- Director’s profile
- At least 3 film stills
- 1 official poster
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER
- Winners will be selected by the Singapore Korean Film Festival programming team and external jury panel from the film industry
- Winners will be notified individually in September 2025
- Selected films will be officially screened at the 2025 Singapore Korean Film Festival and cannot be withdrawn from screening
- All winners are required to attend the screening event and awards ceremony during the 2025 Singapore Korean Film Festival period in October

- Films selected for screening must be available in DCP(D-Cinema)
COPYRIGHT & PROMOTIONAL USE
- The Embassy reserves the right to create a short promotional video (maximum 30 seconds) using excerpts from the winning films
- Winning entries may be featured in the festival catalogue, website, and social media platforms
- For post-festival nonprofit promotional purposes, the Embassy may retain a digital copy of the film with the filmmaker’s consent
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Participants are solely responsible for any copyright, portrait rights, or defamation issues related to their submissions
- Violations may result in disqualification and cancellation of awards
- The jury reserves the right to award fewer prizes depending on the quality of submissions
- Short films in/for which AI (Artificial Intelligence) has been used can be accepted as entries for the competition, but this must be clearly acknowledged in the credits. AI must not, however, have been the sole basis for ideation or for the whole production end-to-end.
